For 18 years I have been a documentary photographer, street photographer, artist and journalist, as well as a photo editor, working for world-class news organizations and photo agencies.
As a photographer, I have concentrated in recent years on black and white street photography, although I also have extensive experience in color photography. My most recent work was featured in a solo exhibition at the CUE Art Foundation in New York in the Spring of 2007, curated by W. S. DiPiero. My work documenting the neighborhood of South Philadelphia was published in 2003 as "Living Under South Street," by Kehrer Verlag of Heidelberg, Germany. My photography has appeared in a many publications, including National Geographic, The Chicago Tribune Magazine, and Poetry. In addition to my documentary photography projects, I have worked as a freelance news photographer.
As a photo editor I have worked for The Associated Press, The Chicago Tribune and The New York Times, as well as several news agencies.
At The New York Times I was a member of the picture editing team for the section "A Nation Challenged", as well as the 2001 Pulitzer Prize winning photography coverage of September 11 and its aftermath.
